Objective
Media Education Scheme (MES) is a scholarship scheme initiated by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) to develop professionals and industry leaders in the media industry, comprises of Animation, Broadcast, Film, Games, Interactive Media, Music and Publishing sectors.
The Scheme targets at outstanding local students and industry practitioners who seek to establish a long-term career in the media industry, and who wish to pursue full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at reputable international or Singapore universities.

Benefits
MES is co-sponsored by MDA and established media companies. The scholarship will cover your tuition and other compulsory university fees. As a MES Scholar, you will also receive an annual allowance to defray your living expenses during your study. Once awarded with the scholarship, you will secure a job placement with your sponsoring company. You will also be provided with training and internship opportunities. During your bond period, you will be developed as a media professional or groomed for leadership role in your sponsoring company.

Who May Apply
If you are a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident who have aspiration to transform the media industry, we welcome your application.
Applicants must have already applied to, or gained admission in an institution for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in the fields of study supported by MDA and the participating companies. Male applicants must have completed, or exempted from, National Service at the time of their study.

Assessment Criteria
Application is open from 6 January 2012 to 15 March 2012.
You will be assessed on:
- Your academic results, and leadership and creative potential
- Your achievements, track record and relevant experience
- Benefit and value of the study to your sponsoring company, and to the development of the media industry in Singapore
- Other requirements specified by the sponsoring company.
Only successful applicants will be notified. MDA and partnering companies reserve the right not to disclose reasons for approving or disapproving any application, and all terms and conditions are subjected to changes.

Supporting Materials
Applicants are requested to submit the following materials by 22 Mar 2012, Thursday, 3pm:
- Completed application form
- Resume
- Certified true copy of relevant academic records
- Letters of recommendations from two referees and their contact details (referees must not be immediate relatives of the applicant)
- A one-page essay on how you would contribute to the media industry
- Samples of portfolio, where applicable. All materials, such as videotapes or portfolio, should be clearly labelled with applicant’s name, contact details and accompanied by a brief write-up of the work (e.g. applicant’s role in the work, title of work, date the work was produced etc). All supporting materials (except sample of works) are to be submitted on plain A4-size paper, type-written, single-spaced and stapled in order of sequence. Please do not bind application form and supporting documents. Materials submitted are non-returnable.
- Information on proposed course of study, including the estimated cost
- Proof of admission into course of study, where applicable
- Declaration of the nature of the scholarships/bursaries/grants received or applied for
- Other relevant supporting documents
