Films Consultative Panel (FCP)

What the Committee Does

The Films Consultative Panel (FCP) was formed in 1982 and comprises members from various professions, age groups and races in Singapore. The panel aims to reflect community standards and to contribute a more balanced approach to film classification, in keeping with changing social mores.

The FCP is consulted when the BFC requires more feedback to help make a decision on a rating of a film, video or game and its consumer advice. The opinions of FCP members are also sought when there are reviews of the classification framework and/or guidelines.

Who They Are

The panel presently comprises 59 members serving two-year terms. The current panel is chaired by Mr Vijay Chandran, Director, Elasticity. The Vice-Chairs are Ms Cheryl Ng, Director, Great Expectations Communications Laboratory, and Mr Albert Tan, Lecturer, School of Engineering, Nanyang Polytechnic.
