What the Committee Does
The Advisory Committee on Indian Television and Radio Programmes (IPAC) was formed on 1 November 1994 to evaluate the quality, content and the range of Indian television and radio programmes (such as Vasantham and Oli 96.8FM) and their impact on the Indian community in Singapore. The Committtee also conveys feedback from the Indian community which it takes into account when making its recommendations to the MDA.
IPAC’s work includes the following:
· Review and give recommendations on the quality and range of broadcast programmes on Vasantham (TV), Oli (Radio) and Indian programmes available on subscription TV platforms;
· Provide feedback and advice on broadcasters’ exercise of standards in Indian programmes and advertisements;
· Review and provide feedback on the validity of public complaints that MDA receives concerning programmes and advertisements;
· Advise MDA in its drawing up of content guidelines for television and radio programmes.
