Malay Programmes Advisory Committee (MPAC)

 

What the Committee Does

The Malay Programme Advisory Committee (MPAC) was set up in August 1995. The Committee’s work include the following:

·       To provide advice and feedback on the range and  quality of  broadcast programmes on Suria (TV), Warna and Ria (radio),  as well as recommendations for their improvement;

·        To provide advice and feedback on broadcasters’  exercise of standards in programmes and advertisements;

·        Review and provide feedback on the validity of public complaints that MDA receives concerning programmes and advertisements;

·       To review and provide inputs on the drawing up of guidelines for TV and radio content.

Comittee Members

The MPAC is appointed for a two-year term and comprises 15 members. It is currently chaired by Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Development and Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC.
