What the Committee Does
The Arts Consultative Panel (ACP) was formed in February 2004 to enable public participation in the regulation of the arts.
Its key roles are:
· To assist MDA in evaluating arts entertainment and to recommend their
suitability for public viewing and any rating that may be required.
· To provide advice and feedback on MDA’s guidelines and standards
for arts entertainment.
Who They Are
The current panel comprises 35 members, all of whom are volunteers serving two-year terms. These members are from various professions (from the arts and media fields, educationists, specialists in youths and community services, and lawyers), different age groups and races.
The ACP is chaired by Mrs Laura Hwang, Managing Director, Memories of the East. The vice-chairman is Mr Toh Weng Cheong, Partner/Lawyer, Low Yeap Toh & Goon.
