Overview

In order to keep its codes and standards up to date with industry developments, MDA conducts regular consultation sessions among the media industry and the public.
MDA is conducting a consultation on the guidelines (“Proposed Guidelines”) on minimal content security requirements which may be adopted by Receiving Qualified Licensees (as defined in the Media Market Conduct Code (“MMCC”)). MDA hereby invites interested parties to submit written comments on the Proposed Requirements by 5pm, 26 May 2011.

MDA is now conducting a public consultation on the Proposed Advisory Guidelines on Maximum Contract Term and Early Termination Charges for Pay TV Services Offered to Consumers ("Proposed Guidelines").

MDA hereby invites interested parties to submit written comments on the Proposed Guidelines by 5pm, 25 May 2011.

IDA and MDA would like to seek the views and comments from the industry and members of the public on the Industry Dialogue on NIMS-Connect Requirement to achieve the objectives of Project NIMS.

MDA has launched the Third Consultation on the Cross-Carriage Measure and welcomes interested parties to provide feedback to the Third Consultation on the Measure by 19 April 2011.

In November 2007, MDA invited the submission of comments from the industry and public on the proposed Policy and Regulatory Framework for Mobile Broadcasting Services in Singapore. This allowed MDA to gain a better understanding of the views of the interested parties.

The Code is constantly being reviewed based on close consultation with the industry and public. Among other things, the Code specifies the rights and obligations of Regulated Persons and certain other entities participating in the Mass Media Services markets. It also aims to promote fair market conduct and effective competition by laying out the ground rules for fair competition.

IDA and MDA have identified Next Generation Interactive Multimedia, Applications and Services (NIMS) as a potential new ecosystem, with a possible focus on interactive IPTV. IDA and MDA are seeking views from the industry.
