The New Zealand-Singapore Films Co-Production Agreement was signed on 13 July 2004 on the sidelines of the second ministerial review of the Agreement between New Zealand and Singapore on a Closer Economic Partnership (ANZSCEP).
Singapore was the first Asian country to sign such a film co-production agreement with New Zealand, paving the way for creative minds in both countries to collaborate on feature film projects.
Under this Agreement, a feature film approved as an Official New Zealand-Singapore Co-Production will be considered as a national production in each of the co-production countries. Co-producers can apply for any benefits or programs of assistance available in their country for such official film co-productions.
The Agreement is administered by MDA’s International Relations team and the New Zealand Film Commission.
