Guidelines And Forms

The Video Games Classification Guidelines contain information on the criteria that are used to evaluate video games in Singapore, and how ratings decisions are made.

After a video game is rated, labels have to be affixed on the packaging of the game. There are different requirements for M18 games and Age Advisory (Suitable for 16 & Above) games.

Those involved in the business of importing or distributing video games in Singapore are required to declare a game title to MDA before it is allowed for sale or to be distributed.

Importers and distributors can register to use the MDA online system to declare game titles. All relevant registration forms and GIRO forms are available here.

When it comes to promotional trailers, demo games or print publicity material, companies have to observe various guidelines.

Companies that register with MDA to use the MDA online declaration system for video games can enjoy TradeNet Permit Auto-approval, which facilitates the clearance of imported video games through customs.

MDA has deferred licensing for video game distributors and retailers.  While companies do not need to have a license to distribute M18 games, they should observe the general conditions required for the sale of restricted games.
