Television programmes are required to comply with different Content Codes depending on the licence issued to the broadcaster. The guidelines that the broadcasters need to comply with depend on the size of viewership and whether the service is available for free or on a paid-for basis.
Content Codes:
· Free-To-Air TV Programme Code : Applies to channels offered on a free-to-air platform.
· Subscription TV Programme Code : Applies to all channels offered by cable and IPTV providers which have a Nationwide licence.
· Niche Code : Applies to channels offered by industry players which have a Niche Licence.
· Video-On-Demand Code : Applies to content offered via a Video-on-Demand mode by Nationwide licensees.
