Overview
The media industry in Singapore is regulated by various legislation and codes of practice. These include laws and guidelines pertaining to the production, classification and distribution/exhibition of films.
Films Act
The importing, making, distributing or exhibiting of films in Singapore is governed by the Films Act of 1981.

Classify All-Content Policy
Introduced in August 2008, the “Classify All-Content” policy has the Board of Film Censors classifying videos according to their content, regardless of edits.

Dual Rating Policy
In October 2003, the Board of Film Censors introduced sequential dual ratings for films, giving film distributors the option to screen two versions of the same movie (with different ratings), one after another with at least a week's break between the respective theatrical runs.
